Support and responsible use
Light Pollution Finder helps you compare places and times to observe the night sky. Exploring the map and searching are free and do not require an account. An email-code account lets you keep saved places across devices.
Support and privacy requests
Use this form for support, problem reports or privacy requests. Your email address is used only to respond to your message.
Tell us what happened, your device and browser, and the approximate time. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or private location details you do not want to share. For account deletion or a data request, contact us from the email used for that account; we may need to verify ownership.
Before you travel
Recommendations are candidate destinations, not verified nighttime access. Check the land manager’s current rules, opening hours, parking, entrance and local weather before leaving. Respect closures and private property. Directions and free-flow driving estimates may differ from the route or time you encounter.
Satellite colors show light emitted toward the satellite, not a measured Bortle class or ground sky brightness. Background-masked zeros and missing coverage do not prove darkness. Forecasts are estimates; missing or expired weather remains unknown. The source and timestamps shown in the app help you judge the data.
Service availability
Shared daily limits keep this free service affordable. During a cooldown, provider outage or daily limit, new results may be unavailable. You can still choose a map point and use available cached data. Daily request budgets reset at 00:00 UTC. The app requires an internet connection and is not an emergency or safety service.
Please use the service normally; do not automate bulk requests or try to bypass usage limits. There are currently no paid subscriptions or checkout. Provider and data-source licenses remain linked with the corresponding results.
